How to Handover a Finished Project
The project team leaves; the room remains in daily use. Care instructions, spare pieces and a clear service contact determine how easily that work can be looked after. Handover is the point at which the knowledge behind the installation becomes available to the person living with it.
Which information should accompany the finished work?
Final product and finish records, locations, quantities, approved changes, care guidance and warranty information give future service a starting point. Spares and special tools need labels. Permissioned photographs can record details worth preserving, while expected finish changes deserve a plain explanation. Essential instructions should reach the client directly rather than remain in packaging.
How should unfinished work be described?
A final walk-through should distinguish completed work, accepted exceptions and open corrections. Each outstanding item needs its location, effect, responsible owner, expected date and any temporary protection recorded in one current list. A general completion claim cannot resolve an unassigned item. The client should be able to understand what remains without assembling scattered messages.
What happens if a problem appears afterward?
The first assessment distinguishes installation, product condition, care, damage and expected change. A practical next step and owner keep the issue moving while the evidence is gathered. Closure follows verification of the accepted correction, with product or care records updated if needed. A sent response establishes contact; it does not establish that the room is working properly again.
