How to Build a Hardware Schedule

The designer may recognize a pull by its shape, the buyer by its product code and the installer by the drawer it belongs on. A hardware schedule connects those descriptions. Its purpose is to let a choice pass between people without becoming a different choice along the way.

What belongs in each row

A useful schedule gives every piece a location

Where
Room, cabinet/front ID, drawing and revision.
What
Exact product/SKU, size, finish and specification link.
How it mounts
Hole spacing, front thickness, fastener and clearance checks.
How many
Quantity at each location; identify spares separately.
What is approved
Approver, date, open questions and order/receipt/installation status.

Separate rows preserve distinct locations and selections. Purchasing quantities can then be combined after reconciliation with the elevation.

Put each selection in its place

Each location begins with the exact product specification and its mounting details before quantities are combined.

Project details

The Save project control creates a file that Open project can reopen later. Saving is not automatic or account-based. The browser's print window offers Save as PDF.

More export options and file details

Project files use JSON and keep your schedule editable. Spreadsheets use CSV. The review copy is an HTML file you can open in a browser. PDF and review copies are for reading; keep the project file to make changes later.

Inspire Hardware does not store or verify your entries. Recorded statuses describe your project record; this tool does not approve a specification or place an order.

Ask about this schedule

Carry your selections into a sample or quote request. Choose the locations you need, then review the prepared text before sending.

Locations to include

New locations start selected. Your project file keeps these choices without removing locations from the schedule. Older files without request details start with all locations selected.

Request details

Preparing a request does not send it or place an order. Inspire Hardware confirms sample eligibility, pricing and availability. Save project file keeps the request type, contact details, timing and location choices on your device. The edited request text is separate; copy or download it to keep that version. Nothing saves automatically or to your account.

Review your request

Edit the text before sending. Changing this request does not change the schedule. Close and prepare it again to include later schedule edits.

Open email with request

Send to trade@inspirehardware.com. Your email app opens separately; nothing is sent until you send the message there. Review current sample terms.

What makes a row unambiguous?

A stable location ID ties the row to a real door, drawer or panel. Exact product, finish, size, hole spacing, quantity, fastener, front thickness and placement then describe what belongs there and how it mounts. Approval status completes the record. Unlike sizes or finishes need separate entries, with keyed elevations or thumbnails where names alone could be confused.

How does the schedule move from selection to installation?

Rows need reconciliation with current elevations, appliance requirements and actual site conditions before release. Selection, approval, ordering, receipt and installation are distinct states; an approved piece has not necessarily arrived. Complete identified revisions keep those states understandable. Notes can explain focal pieces and exceptions without asking the buyer or installer to infer the design intent.

What happens when a row conflicts with the project?

The disputed line and any copied locations need tracing to the approved product and field condition. A complete revised schedule should explain the resolution, reconcile ordered and installed quantities and mark old copies obsolete. Purchasing and installation need confirmation of the change. A verbal correction may settle one conversation while leaving the next person with an inaccurate row.

Build a Hardware Schedule in a room

Planning visualization showing Tuxedo cabinet pulls in more than one visible length

The visible lengths vary within the pull family, making the location and exact size necessary parts of the schedule.

Hardware represented. Tuxedo cabinet pulls in more than one visible length.

AI-assisted concept, not a completed installation. Product specifications and physical samples remain the references for a real selection. The product line is identified; exact sizes and finish code are unresolved.

Put the decision on paper

A location-based schedule and proposal with quantities, assumptions, alternates, and approvals aligned.

A worked example

Location K-ISL-D03 identifies the third island drawer and records collection, finish, center-to-center, screw, front thickness, placement datum, quantity, and approval state.

What should be true before you move on?

A revision-controlled location schedule reconciled to drawings and ready for pricing, ordering, installation, inspection, and service.

Project discussion notes

Each entry connects one location with an exact selection.

An editable file preserves these notes for reopening after leaving or refreshing. It stays on the device and is not sent to Inspire Hardware.
