Charcoal-green cabinetry, pale stone, narrow vertical tile, and restrained brass create a composed passage between bath and bedroom.

Full Design Considerations

Design intent

Treat the vanity as a composed architectural element that connects bath and bedroom rather than as a collection of decorative parts.

Why these choices work

  • Deep cabinetry gives pale stone and narrow tile a stronger edge.
  • Restrained brass warms the green-charcoal finish and echoes nearby wood tones.
  • Consistent hardware alignment helps a long vanity read as one element.

What to watch

  • Dark cabinetry absorbs light, so confirm the finish in the room's actual task lighting.
  • Choose a finish and construction suited to frequent cleaning and damp hands.
  • Check pull projection and grip where circulation is tight.

When another direction may work better

On a shorter vanity, smaller pulls or a knob-led scheme can preserve more visual space.

The original inspiration

Original installation image that inspired The Forest Vanity

Inspired by a member of our design community.

What we admired

They combined a substantial timber vanity with a wall-wide mirror, gray stone, and a direct view into the bedroom. The continuity between the two spaces inspired us to make the vanity feel quieter and more architectural.
